Only intermission...

Regarding Our 2020 Season

It is with heavy hearts that the staff of the Cumberland Theatre in cooperation with the CT Board of Directors has made the very difficult decision to cancel the remaining shows in our 2020 Season.  Due to the uncertainty of the ever-changing restrictions imposed by this health crisis along with the financial hardship the Cumberland Theatre (and the entire live entertainment industry) has suffered and continues to battle, we have decided that there is no other alternative at this time.

Our hearts go out to all the actors, production staff and administrative staff that were under contract with us for this season, as well as all those in the performing arts world that are effected by this pandemic.  We look forward to working with you again as soon as we are permitted to do so safely.

We sincerely appreciate every patron who has purchased tickets, season passes and flex passes this year.  We would like to offer you three options regarding your purchases:

1.  Donate your ticket money back to the theatre.  We will consider this a taxable donation and you will receive a letter acknowledging your donation in the dollar amount of your ticket purchase.  The theatre will use this money to pay insurance, utilities and other expenses during this difficult time, as well as to fund our 2021 Season, which we hope to begin in February.

2.  Roll your tickets to next season.  Season Pass holders who attended our production of Assassins will receive a deeply discounted price for their 2021 Season Pass.  Those who did not attend Assassins may roll their entire pass to 2021.  Individual show purchases may be rolled to any show in 2021 provided the tickets are exchanged by February 1, 2021.

3.  You may contact us at info@cumberlandtheatre.com for a full refund of your ticket.  Please keep in mind that refunds take approximately 30 days to process.

We do hope you will consider donating your ticket money to help the Cumberland Theatre survive this crisis.  As the only regional professional theatre remaining in this part of the state, it is imperative that we keep bringing professional theatre to this corner of the world.  If you would like to donate additional funds, please return to our homepage and click "donate now".

Thank you for your support, your love and your patronage.  We look forward to seeing you in 2021.
