MUSIC:
Please prepare one minute of a song in the style of the show and bring a karaoke track with you on a cell phone or tablet. A speaker will be provided.
DANCE:
There will be a short dance routine taught at the audition. Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in, as well as good footwear (no Crocs, slides, or other footwear that restricts movement or can easily fall off)
READING:
Sides will be provided on the day of audition to read. Actors do not need to memorize the script.
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
The rehearsal schedule will be finalized after the cast is chosen and we will do our best to work around conflicts that are provided on the audition sheet. Rehearsal are typically Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and some Saturdays.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Willy Wonka is a show with many characters, varying widely in age and gender. We encourage our SOT performers to audition for the roles they want to audition for, even if they may not necessarily fit the exact description. The directing team will cast the show with the descriptions as a guideline, but will ultimately choose who they feel will best serve each role.
Willy Wonka
The mysterious title character. He is charming, enigmatic, charismatic, and slightly sinister. A chocolatier who guides children and their parents on a tour of his factory. He is looking for someone new to take over his candy empire.

A local candy vendor who leads the children in praising the joys of candy.

Phineous Trout
A reporter covering the Golden Ticket story.

Charlie Bucket
Our story's shy, earnest protagonist. From a modest home life, he is humble and noncompetitive while maintaining a sense of wonder about the world. One of the Golden Ticket winners whose honesty and general good nature win Wonka over.

Charlie Bucket's nurturing mother. She is always trying to maintain an energetic positivity.
